Updates

It only began this week, but I have FINALLY started willingly feeding myself food. Up until now, the only foods I would feed myself were anything sweet (duh) or certain types of restaurant bread. Everything else, I preferred to be spoon fed. Then the other night, she made spaghetti and fed me some. When I finished that bowl, she refilled it, set it down on my high chair, and lo and behold, I grabbed some for myself and ate it. The next night, mommy made something else with noodles and had set Annie’s plate down on the table. I got all sneaky, reached up, grabbed a noodle before anyone could stop me and put it in my mouth.

My favorite foods are sweet potatoes, avocados, pancakes & smoothies. I will never object to those. I also really enjoy soups, sauces & salsas. Oh and french fries. I do NOT like eating cut up fruit. I questioned the existence of raspberries once when one made its way into my mouth. Another time, I ate a few bites of a canteloupe off of mommy’s fork, but that’s been it.

I know how to sign “please”, “more” & “all done” (although I get the last 2 confused). I can also wave hi & bye. We’re working on “thank you”.

We’re working on our words. At my 15 month check-up, the doctor really wanted me to learn how to say 5 words by the time I’m 18 months. I can say “mommy” (although I’m really saying “money”), “daddy” (my FAVORITE word & person), “ball” & “doggie”. And lots of baby talk. Every now and then, I’ll repeat a word and shock everyone.

I can be quite loud, which pleases Daddy. And I’m learning how to throw tantrums. Which displeases everyone.
